I Smart QR is a free QR code generator. There is no account to create, no watermark on what you download, and no limit on how many codes you make. This page says who is behind it, because you should know who wrote the advice you are about to follow.

My name is Rizwan Prasla. I build and run I Smart QR, which is part of the I Smart Web family of tools. I wrote the generator, the design system this site is built on, and every guide published in the blog.
I am not a QR code standards body and I do not speak for one. What I know about QR codes I know from building a generator that has to produce codes that actually scan — which turns out to be a stricter teacher than the specification on its own.
2. Why this tool exists
Most free QR generators are a funnel. You design a code, download it, and then discover the image carries a watermark, or that the code routes through someone else’s domain and stops working when a trial expires. A QR code printed on a menu, a van or ten thousand flyers cannot afford either of those outcomes.
I Smart QR produces a static code that encodes your data directly. Nothing sits between the scanner and your link, so there is nothing that can be switched off later. That is the entire design brief.
3. How the guides are written
These are the rules I hold the guides to:
- Claims about scanning get tested. If a guide says a contrast ratio, a quiet zone or a logo size works, it is because codes were generated at that setting and scanned, not because the number is repeated elsewhere online.
- Numbers that are inherited get attributed. Where a figure comes from the ISO specification or a vendor’s documentation rather than from my own testing, the guide says so.
- Corrections are made in place. Every post carries a visible date. When something is wrong, the post is edited and the date moves, rather than the mistake staying up under a new headline.
- No invented authority. You will not find fabricated testimonials, borrowed certifications or statistics without a source on this site.
4. What the generator does
Fourteen code types — link, text, email, phone, SMS, WhatsApp, vCard, Wi-Fi, location, event, PayPal, Bitcoin, app store and plain data — with colour, gradient, pattern, logo, frame and watermark controls, exported as PNG, SVG, EPS or PDF. The features pages cover each one, and the animated QR studio produces Lottie animations that still scan.
It runs in the browser and on the server; it does not need an account, and it does not keep your codes.
5. Getting in touch
If a guide is wrong, if a code will not scan, or if you want a feature that is not there, say so. The social links in the corner of every page reach me, and the FAQ covers the questions that come up most often.
